Brookland Greens (Melbourne, VIC)
Brookland Greens Private Estate is an established community in Cranbourne, located some 45 kilometres south-east of Melbourne.
Peet Limited began developing the property in 1999 and today the residential estate is home to more than 650 households.
Sales at Brookland Greens were suspended in September 2008 in response to management issues at the neighbouring disused landfill site owned by the City of Casey.
The Council initiated urgent works and has subsequently installed an $11 million wall along the northern and western boundaries of the Stevensons' Road closed landfill. Further works, including a gas collection gravel trench and extra extraction bores, are also being undertaken.
For details about the City of Casey's disused landfill site, visit the City of Casey or the EPA Victoria websites.
